Potting Vessel

After previewing the Signature 595 at Seawork 2005, an order was taken from Stride Fishing Ltd of Christchurch for a new potting vessel to replace their existing Dory.

Brian Stride has a long history in the industry and has had his eye on a catamaran replacement for many years but has never found quite the right vessel quality and reasonable price.

The 595 being built is widened to 3m beam giving masses of flush self-draining deck and will be completed with a forward ‘lantern’ style offset wheelhouse, pot-hauler, power pack and a pair of 40hp Evinrude E-tec 2 stroke outboards for a service speed of 21kn.

The vessel has been tested under Lloyds Special Service Craft rules and must have a sheer factor of 3 times the specification. The actual result was a factor of 4.5 times !!

Widened version of the standard 595 to provide even greater working deck area. Offset forward wheelhouse and foredeck with pot hauler mounting. Starboard side heavy duty wear patch. Twin outboards with Hydrive hydraulic steering and ‘cat’ valve to eliminate steering link bars.
