At Bennett-Worrallo SeaCat Ltd we pride ourselves on the manufacture of commercial power catamarans based on a full displacement hull design, the heritage of which can be traced back over 40 years. These hulls can achieve speeds of 30Kn or more with either inboard or outboard power.
Having a very fine entry, coupled with full aft sections, the motion on board is steady and predictable, whilst the high bridge deck remains clear of the water even in steep head seas, increasing comfort and inspiring confidence. Those wishing to find out more: CLICK HERE
Carefully designed hull profiles encompassing proven Naval Architecture result in excellent fuel efficiency, especially in the 15 to 20Kn range, and vast flat decks with flush hatches create a safe un-cluttered working environment. These features coupled with Seafish certified construction as standard, produce a vessel which can be relied on day-in-day-out, whatever the weather, whatever the job.
Please contact us with your specific vessel requirements. Anything is possible!.

As far back as the early 1960’s, the late Keith Bennett first played around with attaching outboard engines to what were at that time derivatives of a sailing catamaran hull he had designed in a small shed on the Island of Bryher in the Isles Of Scilly.
This original vessel eventually spawned hundreds of others, each a slight development of the last, which proved very popular for their stability, ride comfort and the fact that only small horsepower was required.
In 2002 Bennett-Worrallo SeaCat was formed, in order to take these original designs forward to a wider market, and over the next two years the original ‘Classic 915’ demonstration vessel was built in Cornwall.
After this vessel had her debut at the Seawork show in 2004, an order was taken for a survey vessel and further investment was brought to the company by a new business partner. At this time BWSeaCat became a limited company and moved to a site in Millbrook Southampton where the survey vessel was completed, along with the design of a small commercial catamaran the ‘Signature 595’. Several of these smaller vessels were completed at the Millbrook site. This design along with other Mark 1 vessels is no longer in production.
In 2006, the company moved again to its current 5500 square foot premises in Portchester, boasting its own slipway and a large overhead gantry, ideal for production. Since moving to this location, the company has gone from strength to strength with a further model the ‘Revolution 795’ ( now the S.P.E.E.D. Eight) being added to the range.
The Autumn of 2008 saw the design of the ‘Mark II’ hull, which subsequently became the S.P.E.E.D. Eleven series range. The demonstrator was first shown at Seawork 2009 and as of December 2009, FIVE vessels have been ordered. The first one is now in service and vessels two and three are now in production and can be seen in the ‘Work in Progress’ sections. |

These two vessels above are from the new S.P.E.E.D. series developed during 2009.
The light blue vessel is our twin Suzuki 175hp outboard version with full width wheelhouse. Very economical and capable of over 29 knots.
The darker blue example with island wheelhouse was launched on 17th March 2010 and is powered with twin Nanni 320hp diesels. Capable of 27.5 knots, it has now been collected and steamed by the customer back to his base at Tenby, South Wales. |
