Bennett-Worrallo SeaCat Ltd was formed in Late 2004 when it became apparent that the larger contracts were unattainable for a company trading as a partnership. The partnership company (Bennett-Worrallo SeaCat) was set up by John and Iain Worrallo in 2002 to carry forward the designs of the late Keith Bennett of Bryher in the Isles of Scilly. This saw fruition in the debut of the Classic 915 at Seawork 2004 where a contract was signed to build the new training vessel for Southampton Solent University. In keeping with company policy to always be at the forefront of multihull design, a radical new hull was designed to achieve maximum speed with minimum horsepower. Launched in December 2005, the ‘Solent Surveyor’ will be available to view at Seawork 2006 by kind permission of Southampton Solent University. Debuted at Seawork 2005 was the smallest vessel in our current range, the ‘Signature 595’. Designed to give large deck space and high ride comfort, two wide (3 metre) versions were built in late 2005/early 2006. The first, a commercial potting version for a Christchurch client and the second, a pilot transfer vessel stationed at Burnham on Sea. Both were shown at Seawork 2006. By June 2006 we had already completed the design phase for the 8 metre range (Revolution 795) and TWO of these were built by Spring 2007 and are in service with clients in Scotland (East Coast) and North Yorkshire as crab / lobster boats. Latest News: (Nov 2007) A new 10 metre catamaran has been added to our range, known as the Classic 995. Designed for outboards or inboards, this vessel will appeal to anglers and divers looking for low fuel costs with increased useable deck space. An outboard powered demonstrator appeared at Seawork 2007 before completing extended trials to Cornwall and Isles of Scilly. A further addition to the range is the Revolution 795. An 8 metre catamaran based on the successful Classic 915 series hull, it shares the same 4.12 metre beam and can be powered by either inboard or outboard engines. The large deck has flush watertight hatches and internal fuel storage to keep the deck area as clear as possible. Three 8 metre boats are now in service — Scotland, North Yorkshire (outboard power) and Cornish South Coast (inboard diesel power). |
